What particle sizes are in Reef Pulse coral food?
Reef Pulse particles range from 5 to 400 microns, so one powder feeds fine-polyp SPS corals, larger-polyp LPS corals, tube worms and other omnivorous filter feeders.
How do I feed Ocean Nutrition Coral Pellets?
Match the pellet to the coral: about 2.5 mm for Ricordea and smaller LPS corals such as Acanthastrea and Blastomussa, and about 6 mm for larger LPS corals such as Scolymia and Trachyphyllia. Feed every other day and feed no more than 30% of the polyps in a colony.
Should I use Reef Pulse or Coral Pellets?
Reef Pulse is a powder for feeding a whole tank or a group of corals at once, including SPS corals and filter feeders. Coral Pellets are placed on individual LPS polyps. Many reef keepers use both.
Will coral feeding increase nitrate and phosphate levels?
Any coral food adds nutrients, so keep to the stated limits: no more than 1 teaspoon of Reef Pulse per 400 litres per day, and restart the skimmer and filtration 10 to 15 minutes after tank feeding. With Coral Pellets, feed no more than 30% of the polyps in a colony.
