What is the hatch rate of Ocean Nutrition Brine Shrimp Eggs?
Ocean Nutrition Brine Shrimp Eggs come from the Great Salt Lake, USA, and have a stated hatching percentage of more than 90%. They hatch into Artemia nauplii in 18 to 30 hours.
What conditions do brine shrimp eggs need to hatch?
Ocean Nutrition recommends a salinity of 25 to 35 grams of salt per litre, a pH above 8, a temperature of 26–29 °C, strong aeration and light, at about 2 grams of eggs per litre in a cone-shaped container.
What is included in the Brine Shrimp Eggs Pre-Mix?
The Pre-Mix combines Artemia cysts and sea salt in the right ratio, so you only add fresh water and aerate. The 30g pack (28g sea salt, 2g cysts) makes 1 litre and the 50g pack (47g sea salt, 3g cysts) makes 2 litres.
What is Shell Free Artemia and how is it used?
Shell Free Artemia is decapsulated brine shrimp eggs: the tough outer shell is removed, leaving a digestible embryo that no longer hatches. It is hydrated for a few minutes and fed directly to baby fish and shrimp larvae, and delivers 30% to 50% more energy than live Artemia nauplii.
